A Day in the Life - Matt Mason

I must admit that I’m one of those unusual people who always wakes up before their alarm. I never fail to set an alarm just in case and usually stay in bed until just before it goes off (otherwise I feel cheated out of sleep).

My dogs are always excited to see me first thing in the morning and I usually give them a fuss and a treat before letting them out in the garden to do their business.

I always skip breakfast (bad I know) but I never feel like eating first thing in the morning which explains why by dinner time I’m practically eating my desk.

Walking up the stairs into the office is always a highlight of mine as I usually have an ear to ear grin on my face which is often met with confused looks with some of my colleagues.

I like to spend my early morning responding to emails and messages from my colleagues and clients. Then I jump on the phone to try and contact my prospects and spread the word of Moirae across the country. I usually do this until dinner when I always say I need to start eating healthy, but I usually end up being the main instigator in visiting the local chip shop.

After dinner, I’m usually back on the phone to prospects and clients managing my time to make sure all my projects are running smoothly. I do enjoy an afternoon meeting so if I can pop out to see any of my prospects or clients this is when I get on the road to visit them.

Towards the end of the day, I like to send out any information to who people have requested it and set up my activity for the following day. I usually finish the day by browsing the internet or reading relevant publications to seek any businesses that I feel we could add some real value too.

Depending on the day of the week I either go straight home to put my feet up or head to the good old Doncaster Dome to usually get beat at squash or badminton. I always let my colleague Simon win as he gets mardy when he loses!

I like to think I’m a brilliant chef, but I must admit that most nights I end up in my takeaway menu draw and selecting a less than healthy option.

My fiance and I always eat together and take this opportunity to catch each other up on that day’s events. I like to record The Chase and give my brain a little more stimulation before I put Netflix on and become a coach potato cuddling my dogs and trying to keep the Mrs happy.

I usually go to bed around 10 pm and religiously watch Family Guy until I drift off. Not the most exciting life but I do enjoy it.
