Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council is the local authority of the Metropolitan Borough of Doncaster in South Yorkshire, England.
The We Are Doncaster website's main purpose was to be used as a key source of information for all things Doncaster. Given the vast amounts of information which needed to be included, it was important that we designed a navigation which was easy to use in order to access different sections of the site, and that the Doncaster Council team would easily be able to update the website themselves. We also needed to make sure that the website was easy to use across a variety of devices.
We design our websites to work seamlessly across multiple devices whether that is mobile, tablet or desktop.
Working with Moirae makes our job here at Business Doncaster a little easier as we know that what we want to get done, gets done! The Business Doncaster website is considered a key marketing tool and is the ‘shop front’ used to promote our services in attracting inward investment, providing business support locally, regionally and nationally and showcasing Doncaster as a place to work, live and enjoy.

We designated the site into 5 key fundamental sections; Why Doncaster, Business, Ambassadors, Developments and Visit and designed a two-level navigation to simplify the user journey as much as possible. By using Umbraco as a Content Management System we also made it easy for the Doncaster Council team to keep on top of updating the amount of content on the website, including the news section. We created specific designs for desktop, mobile and tablet to optimise the user experience for each device.
We delivered a responsive site that is user-friendly, easy to navigate and have had great feedback from the team at Doncaster Council. The website continues to see a great flow of traffic every day and we have gone on to create search campaigns to increase engagement further with specific pages.
