This month, Moirae Creative Agency are hosting their very first Marathon - but not of the running type!

Moirae Creative Agency has joined forces with the NSPCC, taking part in the charity’s nationwide Big Board Game Day on Friday 27 May. From 9am on the day, Moirae will close their offices and play a Big Board Game Marathon for 24 hours NON-STOP - and all of it will be streamed LIVE on Social Media.

The Marathon

Every hour, the Moirae Creative Agency team, plus a special guest, will play a different board game - a total of 24 board games in 24 hours. The Really Big Board Game Day is being supported by leading board-game producers, Hasbro Gaming, who have kindly donated a huge selection of the games for The Really Big Board Game NSPCC Campaign, which will include family classics such as Monopoly, Risk, Battleships, and Mouse Trap, as well as newer games such as Pie Face and Loopin’ Louie.

The Fundraising

Moirae Creative Agency plan to invite businesses to sponsor each hour. During their sponsored hour, the logo of the business will be featured prominently during the live stream and for an extra donation, the business can send one lucky person to join in with the Moirae team for that hour.

During the live stream, viewers can both donate online to the fundraising total and also purchase electronic raffle tickets for the hourly prize draw, which will include special editions of the games, limited edition prizes and much, much more!

The Live Stream

The whole event will be broadcast live on Twitch, Facebook and YouTube, allowing viewers to directly chat and interact with the players and giving them a chance to get involved themselves. The stream will feature text overlays to relay vital information such as key donation milestones, a running total and any special messages to or from the donors.

Claire Reading, NSPCC Community Fundraising Manger for South Yorkshire said: “We all love to play.  This is why the NSPCC set up their Big Board Game Day to raise vital funds for its work with children and young people.

“As one of our 30 local companies supporting the NSPCCs’ Childline service in its 30th year, Moirae have tasked themselves with an ambitious 24 hour big board game marathon and with sponsorship from 24 businesses, their support will go a long way.  A huge thank to everyone at Moirae for their enthusiasm and continued support!”

About the NSPCC

The NSPCC is the only children’s charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands.  Using voluntary donations, which make up more than 90 per cent of our funding, we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening. So when a child needs a helping hand, we’ll be there. When parents are finding it tough, we’ll help. When laws need to change, or governments need to do more, we won’t give up until things improve.

Our ChildLine service provides a safe, confidential place for children with no one else to turn to, whatever their worry, whenever they need help. Children can contact ChildLine 24 hours a day, 365 days a year on 0800 1111 or by visiting www.childline.org.uk

Our free helpline provides adults with a place they can get advice and support, share their concerns about a child or get general information about child protection. Adults can contact the helpline 24 hours a day, 365 days a year on 0808 800 5000, by texting 88858 or visiting www.nspcc.org.uk
